Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all,
especially other Cup winners. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday
season with lots of good cheer..
What can I say but what a crazy year it’s been. Strange and
remarkable things have been happening the world over. The Arab Spring, the debt
crises in Europe, Pat putting two balls in the drink at the first hole at St
Andrew’s without a club following the balls and I had the honour of winning the
Egan Cup. For people who know me winning a golf tournament was the equivalent of
the first man on the moon. Man I love the Callaway Scoring System.
The Cup is resting at home in NB, as it should be, with a view
from Anne Marie’s front window looking out over where the St John and
Kennebecasis Rivers meet. It has been well traveled and many admiring eyes have
paid proper compliments to it. No touching the cup of course without the proper
hand wear.
It was a fantastic time and a great experience
getting to meet everyone this past summer.
I love the atmosphere and the interaction amongst the different age
groups. Seeing the younger children and the smiles on their faces I know this
will be an event they talk about and look forward to year after year. With
people so busy these days it’s why everyone makes it an important date on their
calendars.  This is a testament to how
well everyone was raised and most of all the importance of family. It must have
been your Mother Mae and that fine McAdam water.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone,
defending my title and getting to meet George and Gaye. Once the family elder
statesmen get together and decide where and when we can all start planning once
again for the Egan Cup.
Take care everyone and be
safe.
PS Judy and Sheila, I know who the Oland killer
is.
